Fishman (b. 1971) is a Laguna Beach-based landscape painter who has exhibited at the prestigious Laguna Beach Festival of Arts since 1997 and is a member of the California Art Club, whose Gold Medal shows represent some of the finest traditional painting in the American West. Largely self-taught, his work is rooted in a deep love of wild places — mountains, forests, and deserts — and focused on capturing light and color as the eye actually sees them, not as a camera does. "My heart lies in the mountains, forests, and deserts," he says. That devotion is unmistakable here.
